New Caprica Clip Online Now

Last summer, the SciFi Channel released a trailer for the forthcoming Battlestar Galactica spin-off Caprica. This was it, in case you missed it:

Now, thanks to the launch of their new SciFi Wire news blog, we finally get to see a little more of the eagerly awaited prequel.

The new clip isn’t a trailer like the first one, it’s a scene from the pilot episode, in which Daniel Graystone (played by Eric Stoltz) gets a tour and a explanation of the less savoury activities people indulge in at the virtual reality “Cyber Clubs” he appears to be responsible for inventing.

Rich technologist Graystone is one of the two main characters in Caprica, which is set 51 years before the Cylon attack that kicked off the Battlestar Galactica story. The other is civil liberties lawyer Joseph Adama (played by former NYPD Blue star Esai Morales) father of future battlestar commander William Adama. A shared tragedy sets in motion a chain of events that will lead ultimately to the creation of the Cylons and the destruction of the 12 Colonies.

Caprica will kick off in 2010 with a two-hour pilot followed by 18 further episodes.
