TV Newsround: More Renewals And Cancellations

The USA network has announced that The Starter Wife, the comedy-drama starring Will and Grace’s Debra Messing as a newly-divorced single mum, will not be returning for a second season.

The fifth season is not due to start until April 7th but FX have already renewed Dennis Leary firefighter drama Rescue Me for an 18-episode sixth season.

Despite the third season of Ugly Betty being put on extended hiatus, with no firm return date set, Entertainment Weekly reports that network ABC is close to green-lighting a fourth season.

With the fifth season of conman drama Hustle just finished airing in the UK, the BBC has announced that a sixth season has been ordered.

Also in the UK, ITV has commissioned an eight-part fourth series of Doc Martin, the drama starring Martin Clunes as a grumpy doctor.  The network has also ordered three new episodes of WWII-era detective drama Foyle’s War.
