Video Killed The Radio Star: Ultravox


Ultravox Week on The Cathode Ray Choob continues with a couple of my favourite songs/videos from the band.

First up, from the 1982 album Quartet, we have the excellent Hymn, in which the band members (Midge Ure, Billy Currie, Chris Cross and Warren Cann) sell their souls to a demonic Sam Neill-lookalike:

And here is the awesome One Small Day, from the 1984 album Lament. By Ultravox standards, the video is a little restrained and unadventurous – but as far as “band-playing” videos go, it’s a good ‘un.
