Top Of The Pops Thursday: Gary Moore – Parisienne Walkways

This week’s live music is provided by one of my favourite guitarists, Gary Moore.

He’s had an accomplished solo career but is probably best remembered, by people of my generation at least, for his collaborations with the late Phil Lynott, both within and outwith Thin Lizzy.

This performance by Moore of Parisienne Walkways, one of the pair’s best-known songs, was recorded on August 20, 2005 (which would have been Lynott’s 56th birthday) at the Point Theatre in Dublin.

The concert – which also featured former Thin Lizzy members Brian Downey, Brian Robertson, Scott Gorham and Eric Bell – was staged to mark the unveiling of a life-size bronze statue of Lynott in the city.
