The Monday Movie – The Wicker Man


This week’s Monday Movie pays tribute to British actor Edward Woodward, who died earlier today aged 79.

He’s best remembered for his TV roles – in the ’60s/’70s British spy thriller Callan and 80’s American crime drama The Equalizer.

His most famous big-screen role was in the 1973 cult classic The Wicker Man and this week’s classic movie clip is the film’s memorable final scene.

He stars as Neil Howie, a God-fearing, repressed police sergeant from the Scottish mainland who travels to a remote Hebridean island to investigate the case of a missing girl, only to discover the islanders are all part of a sun-worshipping pagan cult led by Christopher Lee‘s Lord Summerisle.
