Tuesday Is Theme Tunes Day – Callan; The Equalizer

In the second and final part of the Choob’s tribute to British actor Edward Woodward, who died on Monday aged 79, here are the theme tunes from the two shows that gave him TV fame on both sides of the Atlantic.

First up, ’60s/’70s British spy thriller Callan, which I have to admit I know little about as it was before my time:

And secondly, ’80’s American crime drama The Equalizer. This one aired during my formative TV years and yet, again, I know very little about it. I was aware of it but never watched it when I was growing up, probably cos of regional ITV’s haphazard scheduling of imported US shows. From what I do remember, it tended to air late at night on STV. Anyway, here are the opening titles:
